How do you feel after listening to these art forms?
Today during art, students listened to four different music genres and tried to express their feelings and thoughts with drawings. We listen to ‘Four Seasons’ by Vivaldi, a Jazz instrumental music, and instrumental versions of ‘Thunderstruck’ by AC/DC and ‘Shake it off’ by Taylor Swift. Some students drew the main instruments they heard, some about their feelings and others about the connections some songs had with their past events. The opportunity to create art based on music was a rich experience to voice their emotions and develop their creativity. Ask your child about their favourite music and their emotional responses.
Math

Inquiry
We have been getting feedback on our sustainable community proposals. We have added some ideas to our blueprints to enhance them even more and prepare us to build and design our models.

BOKS
Today BOKS forms have been sent home. Ms. Hennick is running a BOKS club a few mornings a week before schools starts to give students an opportunity to do physical activity before our school day begins. Studies have shown the benefits of how physical activity before school improves students performance, focus and engagement. If you think your child would be interested in this program please submit the form ASAP as the first 60 students who submit their form will be selected. It will be the parents responsibility to get the child to the program on time. Please visit http://bokskids.ca for more information on how the program works.
