Inquiry ** shoe boxes are needed!! 
We will be building enclosures for our chosen animal. We need each student to bring in 1 shoe box to act as the back drop for their project (if you have extra send them too!)
We are exploring websites such as pebble go and Life Science. You can access these websites via the Learn Alberta Website www.learnalberta.ca  go to the online references to look for the sites, you will need this login information.  Username: LA06 | Password: 4105

Sports Day  
Sports Day is Wednesday May 30 in the afternoon. Please make sure to dress for the weather and with appropriate footwear, hats and sunscreen. We will be outside for most of the afternoon. Please return all home reading books promptly so our volunteers can do inventory for the end of the year. If you are unable to find your home reading books you will be responsible for payment.

Skating Hello Royal Oak School Parents and Guardians! Your son and/or daughter will be bringing home a letter soon telling you about our Skating Activity that will take place March 14, 15 and 16 th . We are looking for several volunteers to help with tying skates, assisting on the ice, walking with classes from the school to the outdoor rink and helping with the skate shack. Needs and Wants In Inquiry, students are discussion the difference between Needs and Wants. Students brainstormed and discussed in small groups their personal needs and wants. Then, we discussed our community needs and wants. Ask your child what they believe is essential in our community and why. Toys, Watches and others distractions We are asking everyone to be thoughtful about the items in students’ backpacks. We all know that toys should not be brought into school, but also items that can become a distraction or reason for disagreements. For example, lately we noticed a few girls sharing bracelets, lip balm, necklaces and others items. First, lost or broken items result in very sad feelings. Second, it can result in discussions about the ownership of such items. Finally, it take away the attention and focus they should be directing to their learning.
