 Inquiry ** Building our enclosures!! 
We will be building enclosures for our chosen animal. Please bring in any additional items you would like to use to build your enclosure. Keep in mind that your the enclosure will be the size of a shoe box. Think about your animal's habitat and what you will need to recreate a model or replica of that. Items you might consider: popsicle sticks, toilet paper rolls, yarn, crafting moss, tissue paper. Use your imagination and be creative with your items.  We encourage  you to access these websites via the Learn Alberta Website www.learnalberta.ca  go to the online references to look for the sites, you will need this login information.  Username: LA06 | Password: 4105

Pre-registration for bussing transportation: is open until June 11th. If your child requires this form of transportation please  register your child before June 11th to ensure that he/she can take the bus at the beginning of September.

Skating Hello Royal Oak School Parents and Guardians! Your son and/or daughter will be bringing home a letter soon telling you about our Skating Activity that will take place March 14, 15 and 16 th . We are looking for several volunteers to help with tying skates, assisting on the ice, walking with classes from the school to the outdoor rink and helping with the skate shack. Needs and Wants In Inquiry, students are discussion the difference between Needs and Wants. Students brainstormed and discussed in small groups their personal needs and wants. Then, we discussed our community needs and wants. Ask your child what they believe is essential in our community and why. Toys, Watches and others distractions We are asking everyone to be thoughtful about the items in students’ backpacks. We all know that toys should not be brought into school, but also items that can become a distraction or reason for disagreements. For example, lately we noticed a few girls sharing bracelets, lip balm, necklaces and others items. First, lost or broken items result in very sad feelings. Second, it can result in discussions about the ownership of such items. Finally, it take away the attention and focus they should be directing to their learning.
