Please if you are planning on being away for conferences, please contact Ms. Daniels or Mr. Pereira to reschedule a conference at a time that works best for you.  As well if your child will be missing school at all due to a holiday please let us know AS WELL AS the office. Thank you in advance.

Conferences- If you have not signed up yet, please click the link below or contact Mrs. Daniels or Mr. Pereira directly if you are unable to attend. 
Thursday March 8 you may register online for your student led conferences on March 22 and 23. These conferences are student centred and student led. Each time slot will be 1/2 hr long, where you will have a chance to interact with your child as they show case their work. Teachers will be available for conversations with students and their parents, however there will be more than 1 family in the room at a time.  


Story writing
Our stories our now complete. We have made, or are in the process making and completing our characters and setting. Please over the course of the next week check out iris to see the stop motion video we made telling our story! We have spent so much time on these fantastic adventures and we can't wait to share them with you next week. 

Math
This week  we are using our known strategies (using a 10 frame, number line, counting with blocks etc..) to help us solve equations and help us play math games.  We can't wait to show you our new subtraction games we are learning at our student centred conferences this week!!

****Home Reading****
Please send back clear home reading book bags every Tuesday and Thursday to get your new books! The volunteers exchange the books in the morning so it is important that students hand them in first thing when they arrive. Just a reminder that these books should be at a "just right" level for independent reading for your child.

Skating Hello Royal Oak School Parents and Guardians! Your son and/or daughter will be bringing home a letter soon telling you about our Skating Activity that will take place March 14, 15 and 16 th . We are looking for several volunteers to help with tying skates, assisting on the ice, walking with classes from the school to the outdoor rink and helping with the skate shack. We are very fortunate to have booked the KidSport skate shack and we will need a few volunteers organizing and managing the skates and helmets. Friday Sept. 15th - Our week in review!

Happy Friday!! We have had a busy week! Check our mail folders today because we have our home journals to share. Please remember to write your child a little note back in the journal. In Math, we started working on the "Candy Problem". How many different ways can 3 kids share 8 candies? Take a look at how we organized our work on the Smartboard! We also worked on Sorting objects into groups. How many different ways can we sort buttons?? Shape, Size, Colour, Number of holes, etc. Important Reminders! **All blue forms that have gone home this week need to be returned ASAP.  **Conferences are on Thursday evening and Friday morning. Please book online ASAP and see the office if you do not have your My CBE account set up.  **Library books can be returned anytime. This week we will be setting up for the book fair so the students will NOT be taking out new books this week.
