Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday February 28th was such a success. We had a fantastic, positive assembly with some students form William D. Pratt school.  We discussed the importance of kindness and what that looks and sounds like. Officer Will was here to share the importance of sticking up for our peers who might be being bullied and that we as students can make a difference.
Students from Pratt them helped us make our own pink shirts which are on display in the gathering area.

Some of our thoughts on bullying.....

Inquiry
What makes a sustainable community?  What does the word sustainable mean?  Why is public art important in our community?  Today we brainstormed all of the different components that sustainable community needs.  We started working with our Artist in residence this week to develop our own community art.

Help save the Polar Bears!  We are asking you to take the Thermostat Challenge and turn down the heat in your homes and at school by 2 degrees!  This will help save the sea ice that polar bears need for survival.  This week grade 2 students are celebrating International Polar Bear Day and as part of that celebration, we would like to invite everyone to take part in this challenge.  You can make a difference!
Thank you from the grade 2 students!
