Fun Friday today! We had our buddies today. Mr.Pereira's class exchanged holiday cards today and Mrs. Daniel's class went on a holiday scavenger hunt! Ho, Ho, Ho! 

 Next week is fun filled, so much school spirit. Here is a list of what to expect:

 1) Caroling: Is happening on Monday from 1:15-1:45 and Wednesday from 9:15-9:45. All are welcome to join us! 

2) Gingerbread building challenge: On Tuesday Dec 19th Students will be asked the question "How can I engineer a gingerbread house that can stand on its own?" We will be providing the graham cracker cookies and icing to build the foundation of the gingerbread houses, however, if students would like to decorate their gingerbread house they are encouraged to bring their own candy.

3) Report Cards: will be going home Tuesday dec 19th.

4) Royal Oak School Spirit day: is Wednesday Dec 20th. Students are encouraged to wear blue

4) Wild, Whimsical, Wacky Winter Wear Day: is on Thursday Dec 21st. Students are encourage to wear a festive sweater, funky winter wear, or Royal Oak Blue

5) Last day of school: is Thursday Dec 21st. Classes resume January 8th. Have a wonderful winter break.


****Home Reading****
Please send back clear home reading book bags every Tuesday and Thursday to get your new books! The volunteers exchange the books in the morning so it is important that students hand them in first thing when they arrive.

Tuesday Dec. 19 - Report cards go home
Thursday Dec. 21 - Wacky winter clothes day-wear your festive winter attire to school.
Thursday Dec. 21 - Last Day of Classes (Winter Break)

Monday Jan. 8 - Classes Resume

Skating Hello Royal Oak School Parents and Guardians! Your son and/or daughter will be bringing home a letter soon telling you about our Skating Activity that will take place March 14, 15 and 16 th . We are looking for several volunteers to help with tying skates, assisting on the ice, walking with classes from the school to the outdoor rink and helping with the skate shack. We are very fortunate to have booked the KidSport skate shack and we will need a few volunteers organizing and managing the skates and helmets. Friday Sept. 15th - Our week in review!

Happy Friday!! We have had a busy week! Check our mail folders today because we have our home journals to share. Please remember to write your child a little note back in the journal. In Math, we started working on the "Candy Problem". How many different ways can 3 kids share 8 candies? Take a look at how we organized our work on the Smartboard! We also worked on Sorting objects into groups. How many different ways can we sort buttons?? Shape, Size, Colour, Number of holes, etc. Important Reminders! **All blue forms that have gone home this week need to be returned ASAP.  **Conferences are on Thursday evening and Friday morning. Please book online ASAP and see the office if you do not have your My CBE account set up.  **Library books can be returned anytime. This week we will be setting up for the book fair so the students will NOT be taking out new books this week.
